<summary><strong>Can I change my name on Stobox 4?</strong></summary>

You can not change your name on the Stobox 4.

However, please note that your name on the Stobox 4 will be automatically updated based on your identity documents once you verify your identity.

<summary><strong>Why can't I log in to my account on the computer I registered on?</strong></summary>

We often hear from you that you have registered and always used the same device (a laptop, desktop, etc.), but when you try to log in, the system says you need to connect devices.

The thing is, if you log in to your Stobox 4 account on the same device you registered with and use constantly, but see the screen shown below, it means you most likely used a different browser or a different browser profile.

You see, Stobox 4 is an extra-secure platform. It considers "devices" not only physical devices, such as a desktop, a laptop, or a mobile phone.

For Stobox 4 Chrome, Brave, and Safari are also different devices.

Moreover, if you have two or more profiles in your Chrome or Safari, they are also considered as different devices by Stobox 4.

This feature secures access to your account by remembering every browser and device you have ever used and pairing them with the specific backup file.

So, even if someone gains access to your email and password, they will still see the screen prompting you to connect a new device.

If they click on the button, you will receive a notification about a new connection on your account once you log in. If you reject this connection, a person will not be able to access your account.

The process of joining devices works for you if you want access to your account on different devices, like your phone and laptop. In this case, you will use [this process>>>](https://docs.stobox.io/helpcentre/help-centre/getting-started/manage/login-on-another-device)

<summary><strong>Where can I find my backup file?</strong></summary>

After you download the backup file, it is in your device's default download location.

**For desktops/laptops**

* Default `Downloads` folder.
* A specific folder that you could set up as your default downloads folder.
* If you set the system to ask you each time you download something, you may need to search across your device(s) to find the file.

**For mobile devices on iOS**

* Safari (default): Downloads are saved to: `Files → iCloud Drive → Downloads` (You can change this to **On My iPhone** in `Settings → Safari → Downloads`).
* Chrome / Brave: iOS versions do not have a fixed download folder. When you tap **Download**, you'll be prompted to **Save to Files**, where you choose the location manually (e.g., `On My iPhone → Chrome` or another folder). If you cancel or skip this, the file will not be saved.

**For mobile devices on Android**

* Chrome / Brave / Firefox / Samsung Internet: Downloads usually go to: `Internal Storage → Download` or: `Files / My Files → Downloads`.

**You can also access downloads via:**

* The **Files** or **My Files** app (pre-installed on most Android devices).
* Or directly from the **Download** notification immediately after saving the file.

{% hint style="info" %}
Note that you can have more backup files if you connect additional devices to your Stobox 4 account, as the system requires you to generate a backup file for each new device. Those backup files will be saved in the relevant devices.
{% endhint %}

***

We strongly recommend you save the backup files in a safe location and make copies on other devices and cloud storage.

This way, you will be able to recover access to your account even if you lose access to either of your devices.

***

{% hint style="warning" %}
By default, the backup file is named StoboxBackupKeys \[timestamp]. The file is in JSON format.
{% endhint %}

<details>

<summary><strong>Can you create and send a backup file for me?</strong></summary>

No, we can't. The backup file is generated during the registration process and considers the physical device and browser you use, as well as the account that triggers its generation.

If we could create an account for you with the email and password of your choice, it still wouldn't work because the devices and browsers would differ.

We suggest you stick to our [registration guidelines](https://docs.stobox.io/helpcentre/help-centre/getting-started/set-up/create-a-stobox-4-account), and if you're using a mobile device, be sure to check the mobile-device-related hints before registering (the links are in the registration guidelines).

<details>

<summary><strong>What is the passphrase ID?</strong></summary>

PassphraseId is the string of letters and digits used to identify your valid Stobox backup file.

It appears inside your `StoboxBackupKeys [date and time stamp].json` backup as the `passphraseID` line. Support can provide the passphrase ID for your latest backup, and you can compare it against the file contents to find the valid one.

<details>

<summary><strong>Where do you use 2FA on Stobox 4?</strong></summary>

Currently, 2FA adds an extra layer of security on Stobox 4, only for critical actions such as large transactions or changes to wallet settings.

This does not create a security issue since one can't log in with only your email and password. They also need a valid backup file.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Where do I download the MPC wallet?</strong></summary>

You do not download it separately.

The MPC wallet is generated on the Stobox 4 platform on [Step 4](https://docs.stobox.io/helpcentre/getting-started-for-everyone/how-to-create-a-stobox-4-account#step-4.-generate-your-wallet) of the registration.

After it is generated, the system creates a backup file that stores part of your wallet's private keys.

Basically, your Stobox 4 account is your wallet.

{% hint style="info" %}
Read more about the MPC wallet and its technology:[ Wallet Management](https://docs.stobox.io/products/stobox-4-beta/key-features/wallet-management).

**Investors**

<details>

<summary><strong>What does the email about depositing 0 USDC email I received for Stobox 4 mean?</strong></summary>

It is not 0 USDC or any other supported crypto that you received. It is a balance of less than zero, for example, 0.000000000564 USDC. In crypto, it is known as **dust**.

***

In crypto, dust is just a ridiculously tiny amount of a coin or token sitting in a wallet. So small that it’s basically useless: too little to trade, swap, or even move without paying more in fees than it’s worth.

Think of it as loose change glued to the bottom of your pocket. It’s money in theory, lint in practice.

***

**Why does dust appear (simple reasons):**

1. First, leftovers from transactions.\
   When you trade or swap crypto, prices move, decimals get chopped, and tiny remainders stay behind. Those crumbs don’t disappear—they become dust.
2. Second, fees and rounding.\
   Blockchains work with many decimal places. After fees are calculated, microscopic leftovers can remain.
3. Third, airdrops you didn’t ask for.\
   Some projects send tiny amounts of tokens to thousands of wallets. Often this is harmless marketing. Sometimes it’s not.
4. Fourth—and this one matters—dust attacks.\
   Someone sends you a very small amount on purpose. The goal isn’t to give you money; it’s to track what you do next. If you move that dust, analysts may link multiple addresses together and learn more about your wallet activity. Creepy, but real.

***

**Is dust dangerous?**

Usually no. Most dust is boring and harmless.

But random tokens you don’t recognize should be treated like suspicious flyers shoved under your door. Don’t interact unless you know what they are.

***

**What people usually do with dust:**

* They ignore it.
* Some wallets hide it automatically.
* Some chains let you “burn” it or convert it into fees.
* Touching unknown dust just to “clean up” is often not worth the risk.
